News Grimgar's Okuhashi Draws Manga Adaptation of Faraway Paladin Light Novels
Manga based on Kanata Yanagino's light novel series launches on September 25

Overlap Bunko announced on August 25 that Mutsumi Okuhashi is launching a manga adaptation of Kanata Yanagino's The Faraway Paladin (Saihate no Paladin) light novel seriers. The manga will launch on Overlap's Comic Gardo web manga site on September 25, and will publish chapters monthly. Okuhashi drew a preview visual for the manga.

Overlap Bunko also previewed the cover art spread by Kususaga Rin for the original novel series' upcoming fourth volume.

J-Novel Club is publishing Yanagino's original novel in English, and began releasing chapters last November. The company describes the story:

In a city of the dead, long since ruined and far from human civilization, lives a single human child. His name is Will, and he's being raised by three undead: the hearty skeletal warrior, Blood; the graceful mummified priestess, Mary; and the crotchety spectral sorcerer, Gus. The three pour love into the boy, and teach him all they know. But one day, Will starts to wonder: "Who am I?"

Will must unravel the mysteries of this faraway dead man's land, and unearth the secret pasts of the undead. He must learn the love and mercy of the good gods, and the bigotry and madness of the bad. And when he knows it all, the boy will take his first step on the path to becoming a Paladin.

"I promised you. It's gonna take a while, but I'll tell you everything. This is the story of the deaths of many heroes. It's the story of how we died, and it's the reason you grew up here."

Yanagino launched the light novel series with illustrations by Kususaga Rin in March 2016, and Overlap Bunko published both parts of the third volume last December.

Okuhashi also draws the manga adaptation of Ao Jūmonji's Grimgar of Fantasy and Ash light novel series. Okuhashi launched the manga in Square Enix's Gangan Joker magazine in April 2015, and Square Enix published the third and final compiled volume in August 2016. Yen Press published the manga's first volume on June 20. J-Novel Club is also publishing the novels digitally. An anime adaptation premiered in January 2016, and FUNimation Entertainment streamed the series as it aired in Japan.

Okuhashi launched the ongoing manga adaptation of Toei Animation's KADO - The Right Answer television anime series on March 22.
