News Kodansha Comics Adds Magical Sempai, Grand Blue Dreaming Manga Digitally
Both series debut in English on September 12

Kodansha Comics is listing that it will release the first volumes of Azu's Magical Sempai (Tejina Sempai) manga and Kenji Inoue and Kimitake Yoshioka's Grand Blue Dreaming (Grand Blue) manga on September 12. Both manga are digital publications only. Kodansha Comics is previewing first chapter of both manga.

The company describes Magical Sempai:

“I encountered her … a cute, but ‘weird’ sempai!” Magic-loving but stage-fright-addled, this sempai comes with a failure rate of 100%—but you can't take your eyes off her! The off-color, magical gag manga that's caused an uproar all over Japan is finally here! Here's to non-athletic hobbies!

Azu launched the manga in Kodansha's Young Magazine in February 2016, and Kodansha published the manga's fourth volume in Japan on September 6.

Kodansha Comics describes Grand Blue Dreaming:

After moving out on his own to a seaside town, Iori Kitahara makes a college debut he never anticipated. A new chapter of his life unfolds, full of diving with beautiful girls and shenanigans with a gaggle of lovable bastards! Idiot-expert Kenji Inoue and au naturel authority Kimitake Yoshioka bring you a glorious college tale filled with booze-fueled antics!

The manga was nominated in the Best General Manga category at Kodansha's 41st annual Manga Awards earlier this year.

Inoue and Yoshioka launched the manga in Kodansha's Good! Afternoon magazine in April 2014. Kodansha will publish the manga's ninth volume on October 6. The manga marks the first time Inoue is authoring an original manga work.

Inoue is the original author for the Baka to Test to Shōkanjū light novel series. The novels inspired two television anime series in 2010 and 2011, and a two-episode OVA series in 2011.

Yoshioka previously drew the four-volume Rinne no Lagrange ~Akatsuki no Memoria~ manga and the six-volume manga adaptation of Shoji Gatoh's Amagi Brilliant Park light novel series.
