• Doomsday Clock Review Embargo Lifts Days Before Series Debut
    Nov 14, 2017

Doomsday Clock arrives in comic book stores Wednesday, Nov 22 (or, if you prefer to stay up late, at 11:57 PM on Nov. 21), but if you want to make sure you go into reading the first issue as spoiler-free as possible, you might want to sign off of the Internet a few days before it goes on sale.

As part of its promotional package for the first issue of Geoff Johns and Gary Frank’s Watchmen-based event series, DC Comics set an official embargo time of Sunday, Nov. 19 at 11:57 PM PST for all reviews.

While the reviews allowed under the embargo are to be spoiler-free, there will, of course, be some discussion of the issue and event that some readers might prefer not to read ahead of getting the issue in their own hands. Plus, with the first issue now in the wild, it’s an inevitability that some spoilers will leak ahead of the issue’s official release, so it would be advised to avoid clicking on any headlines indicating potential spoilers in the articles they link to.

Featuring the first meeting between iconic DC Comics heroes like Superman, Lex Luthor and Batman and the cast of Alan Moore and Dave Gibbon’s Watchmen, Doomsday Clock debuts Nov. 22, although fans willing to stay up late can purchase it from participating stores at 11:57 p.m. on Nov. 21.
