Compilation film of anime's 3rd season opens on October 13 The official website for the Yowamushi Pedal franchise began streaming a trailer on Saturday for the Yowamushi Pedal Re:Generation compilation film. The film will have a two-week limited screening starting October 13. The film will incorporate footage from the third anime season with some new shots. The film will feature an original scene with Shingo Kinjō, Yūsuke Makishima, and Jin Tadokoro. The key visual above includes cuts of the scene. Saeki YouthK (Yūsuke Saeki) will perform the film's theme song "Tsuyosa Yowasa" (Strength and Weakness). The CD single for the song will ship on October 4. 11th stage play runs in Tokyo, Osaka in October The official website for Yowamushi Pedal Shin Interhigh-hen Heat Up, the 11th stage play adaptation of Wataru Watanabe's Yowamushi Pedal (Yowapeda) cycling manga, revealed four new cast members and the visuals for the of the play last Friday. The site also revealed the main visual for the play. Eiji Takigawa injured while cycling downhill on Friday Actor Eiji Takigawa was seriously injured while filming the live-action Yowamushi Pedal 2 television series in Yamanashi Prefecture at about 1:30 p.m. on Friday. According to police, he received serious injuries on his whole body, and he is currently hospitalized. At the time of the accident, the 38-year-old was filming for the series on a road in the Misakachō Tōnoki area of Fuefuki, Yamanashi. Takigawa was cycling downhill toward Fuefuki when he collided with the left curb while on a right curve in the road. Police are investigating the cause of the accident. Takigawa plays Juichi Fukutomi in the sequel television series. The series is airing in two parts. Drops out of October's Show By Rock!! musical Actor Eiji Takigawa's agency Eri Office announced on Monday that, following an accident on the set of the live-action Yowamushi Pedal 2 television series, Takigawa has been diagnosed with a spinal chord injury. Takigawa was transported to a hospital via helicopter and has already undergone surgery. He is still at the hospital to focus on medical treatment. The broadcast of Yowamushi Pedal 2 will go forward as planned with the blessing of Takigawa himself and his family. However, Takigawa will no longer be playing Rom in the Live Musical Show By Rock!! -Shin'en no Cross Ambivalence- stage musical this October. At the time of the accident on September 15, the 38-year-old was filming for the series on a road in the Misakachō Tōnoki area of Fuefuki, Yamanashi. All releases slated for December Discotek Media announced on Monday that it has licensed Barefoot Gen, Barefoot Gen 2, Yowamushi Pedal the Movie, and Photon: The Idiot Adventures. All three are slated for home video release in December; the Barefoot Gen movies will be on Blu-ray Disc and DVD, Yowamushi Pedal will be on a Blu-ray Disc/DVD combo pack, and Photon will be DVD only. Discotek will release the two Barefoot Gen movies together in Japanese with English subtitles. The release will also include the English dub for the first film.
