You Can‘t Miss! 10 Great Old Anime Worth Watching

We made a list of 10 animes we Seen and recommend for everyone, well everyone with the stomach for them.

10. WataMote

Were you neurotic, hyper self conscious, overly introverted, paranoid, and/or perpetually angry in high school?

Well then, this anime should resonate with you, it's a giant parade of cringe, dry wit, and heart rending moments.

9. Shingeki no Kyojin (Attack on Titan)

Like military stuff? Like it done in a more gritty, slightly less sappy "one dude is the hero and fixes everything" fashion?

Then you'll like this, a genuinely interesting story, with well developed characters, and jaw dropping visuals, it's one of the best anime currently being produced.

Heads up though, the story can drag its feet a little at times.

8. Trigun

An entertaining and often lighthearted anime, Trigun contains surprisingly little actual violence for all the shooting.

The story is an intricate one, that appears simple at first, and gradually engrosses you with plot twist after plot twist.

7. Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex

An anime that puts great emphasis on developing the fictional timeline it's set in.

The action scenes are beautiful and visceral, with crisp animation and a compelling, if frequently absent overarching plot.

6. Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt

Did you like powerpuff girls as a kid? Ever wonder what it would look like if the Powerpuff girls grew up to be crass, mildly insane, adult women (who are actually angels)? No? Fuck you, watch this anyway, it's hilarious and we can't recommend it enough.

Also, if traditional anime doesn't appeal to you AT ALL this is an anime only in the sense that it was made in Japan, the show has a completely unique art style.

5. Ergo Proxy

This anime is insanely underrated, and surprisingly few people seem to have heard of it.

With deep philosophical undertones, and a complex story, with an absolutely killer atmosphere, it's a show that will get you thinking.

Even if all you're thinking is "wait... what?"

4. Full Metal Alchemist

This is one of those anime that even if you don't give a flying fuck about anime, it's probable you've heard of it.

It's yet another anime on this list with an intricate and philosophically deep plot, on top of that, it has some exquisite action scenes.

3. Cowboy Bebop

Do we even need to explain this one? It's another anime which you have probably already heard of.

All we can say is that you should watch it, after the first episode it should become evident why.

2. Gurren Lagann

Sounds fairly timid right? This anime is balls to the wall insane, and the epitome of inspirational and heartfelt.

The art style is thoroughly unique, and the story is utterly absurd in the best of ways.

This anime is actually what inspired me to start exercising regularly again, and aggressively face my personal and professional obstacles.

Be warned though, this show will make you cry at a point. People who have already seen this know EXACTLY what episode I'm referring to.

1. Code Geass

we are sure there are people who will disagree with me, and say that Cowboy Bebop deserves this slot.

But Code Geass is my personal favorite anime, and a masterpiece by any measure.

The world is well developed, the action scenes are well done, but most of all, everything feels... genuine.

Lelouch is perhaps one of the most charismatic anti hero's ever written, not just in anime, but fiction in general.

Code Geass does an excellent job of encapsulating the horrors and complexities of warfare, and the toll they take on the human psyche.
