We always try to convince some friends to watch anime.

Here's a list of gateway anime to help ease them into the culture surrounding anime without thrusting them into the centre.

1. Code Geass

Code Geass has great pilot episode, good graphics, great fights, twists and turns and great storyline.

 

2. Death Note

Lots of westerners have heard of this anime, it has a good start, good graphics, awesome premise and the storyline is always intense.

3. Cowboy Bebop

Cowboy Bebop shares some funny, likeable characters, people won't make fun of you if this is your very first anime, it has also got the best opening of all time pretty much.

4. Big 3 (Naruto, Bleach, One Piece)

Naruto is a story about a world of ninjas, who basically are super powerful compared to normal people. 

Bleach is about a boy named Ichigo who can see ghosts from a young age. But one day, a girl appears in front of him and fights off this giant monster.

It's about a boy named Luffy who takes a bite out of a devil fruit, which transforms him into a human rubber band. 

There's no more need to say how these three anime are the good choice for your start anime.

5. Attack on Titan

Attack on Titan has excellent graphics, great storyline, it has garnered a lot of attention in the western hemisphere.

6. Fullmetal Alchemist (Brotherhood)

FMA has alway been hilarious, never boring and it has got many really cool premise, this well westernized anime is lots of people's favourites.

7. Soul Eater

This anime has good amount of blood to make you pump up, and it also has some good opening episodes and a great ending.

8. Dragon Ball series

There's a reason DBZ's been on for so long. 

9. Avatar: The Last Airbender

An anime with both lots of western and eastern elements, all-around great.

 

10. Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann

A fast-paced action anime, it has got really nice animation to be over the top.
