10 Signs That Indicate You are a Hardcore Otaku Master

There are so many anime fans in the world, but how many of them are the real hardcore otaku?

Now we have a question ,do you like watching anime, so much that when a new series is announced you go and read the manga or light novel it’s based off before the TV show airs? anime characters you adore? Do you like anime songs?

Perhaps you are one step from being an Otaku master yourself.

Let’s go over 10 things that will jolt your Otaku levels.

1. Absolute Knowledge of Anime

Is anime something you live off? Do powerful you are becoming, listing your long resume of watched shows, characters you love, voice actors you adore?

The more your life revolves around anime and manga the more Otaku you will be.

Able to quote the exact words and phrases of characters? Very good.

If your favorite anime ends with a terrible cliff hanger, do you go to the original manga to find out how it really ends?

You can’t just know about the anime, you have to know specific information about the characters you love in order to…

2. Celebrate Character Birthdays

What’s the ultimate form of showing appreciation for your favorite character or Waifu/Husbando? Celebrating their birthday of course!

Many Japanese Otaku masters set up a little shrine of sorts in front of a monitor or TV showing the character to be celebrated, decorated with all the goods and figures and whatever related merchandise you have to make one grand celebration!

And of course to top it off, you have to have cake! And if you really love your character, pause the screen when the their mouth is open (or use an image) and feed the cake to them yourself.

The ultimate form of showing your anime love affection is…

3. Owning Dakimakura

Dakimakura are hug pillows. In the world of anime and otaku though, Dakimakura are the physical and tangible existence of your 2D Waifu/Husbando.

Anime Dakimakura are hug pillows with your character printed on the pillow cover.

In this manner one can hold and display pure affection directly to them.

The most powerful of Otaku masters will take their Waifu with them, even outside to conventions and other events.

Only the most strongest of strongest Otaku have the will power to do so.

4. Master Collection of Figures and Dolls

Whether it’s a collection of all your favorite characters or a collection dedicated to your only one, a true Otaku master will have accumulated all the plastic models of their hero or heroine and have a proud display for all… potential visitors to check out and be amazed at.

Figures are pretty standard for hardcore Otaku, but a level higher are dolls. Predominantly Dollfie Dream brand dolls, high quality and expensive dolls which are large in size and customizable.

Master Otaku care for these delicate dolls, treating them as their own daughters/sons. Again, the grand masters take their dolls wherever they go.

Speaking of going places, how do the great Otaku masters show off their fandom out in the real world?

5. Heavy Anime Armor

In the old ages where anime didn’t exist, warriors had to use iron and chain mail in order to protect themselves from dangerous attacks by foes.

In this glorious day and age, anime does exist, and it is the most power thing in existence.

Naturally, Otaku masters will fend off the haters with armor forged with pure anime provided by their hero/goddess.

Anime bags, badges, keychains, and other accessories are the true form of protection provided by fandom.

Now that you are completely equipped with everything you need to survive the harsh world, we must go to the holy lands in order to get true anime power.

6. Anime Pilgrimages

“Anime isn’t real life, it’s just a cartoon, it doesn’t take place in the real world.” WRONG. Anime is life.

Or rather many Anime shows take place in very real locations especially in Japan.

The Otaku master makes their Anime pilgrimages to the exact spots where their favorite master tier shows take place.

From there they are able to gain true powers by taking photos of the amazing scenes that were used in the shows.

This is a really fun thing to do though, putting the anime backgrounds beside the actual locations are interesting, and being at the actual location your favorite characters stood gives you a fuzzy feeling like no other.

But all these are rather passive ways to reveal your amazing status as an Otaku master.

7. The Itasha

Itasha owners are another level of master Otaku. Only the Otaku masters with great pride (and money) have obtained Itasha driver status.

Itashas are created either by custom paint or stickers/decals decorating the to be Itasha car.

Itasha masters will drive their cars around town, show them off around Akihabara, and even take them to car shows and other anime conventions.

If you do not drive, fear not, there are other things you can decorate with anime such as the Itachari, where Otaku masters decorate their bicycles with anime decals as well.

What is another way to actively display your love for anime?

8. Anime Songs at Karaoke

This is actually an amazing tactic to fish out your fellow comrades who may be closet Otaku.

When you go to Karaoke in a group and sometimes don’t know what to sing – a master Otaku would grab that mic and dish out the first anime song, breaking the seal and allowing the hidden ones to know that you are one of them.

A master Otaku naturally, would have an endless playlist of possible anime songs to sing at karaoke.

This activity is fun, but what do you do when you really want to shine for your fellow Otaku?

9. Wotagei

Wotagei. This is the dance of Otakus.

With a very unique choreography, this dance dominates within the audience during anime song concerts and live performances by anime voice actors.

This dance lets you team up with fellow master Otaku and sync up each others passion in a physical dance routine. Learn more about it here.

10. Akihabara is your Mecca

Once you have finished celebrating your Waifu’s birthday and dusted off your precious collection of figures, jump into your Itasha or Itabike with your Dollfie and head to the great land of anime, Akihabara, the Tokyo central for all things Otaku.

Here is where you can find everything you need for your Otaku needs from accessories to figures.

You’ll find event venues for performing Wotagei at idol shows and anime events.

And best of all, all of your Otaku comrades are there with you. Now you have reached the most powerful Otaku status.

Be one with your fandom and enjoy it with everything you got.
