Top 10 Most Powerful Villains In American Comics

Titans are on their way invading the Marvel Universe? Yep, but will the superhero take them as a serious threat?

Maybe not. Comparing to the top 10 most powerful villains in the history of American Comics, the giant army coming from "Attack On Titians" is nothing more than a big mouse ...

10. Cyborg Superman

Once a NASA astronaut, Hank Henshaw evolved into Cyborg Superman after a space mission gone wrong.

He has ALL of Superman’s powers, as well as the ability to control and manipulate machinery and technology. After merging himself with Superman’s birthing matrix, he gained the knowledge that Superman possesses, as well as the knowledge of krytonian technologies.

Because of that, his body was eventually comprised of merely indestructible kryptonian alloys.

His Weakness?

Well, his body can be destroyed, HOWEVER he can just form himself a new one. Hank Henshaw the man, is immortal.

His biggest weakness now is that he wants to die. He’s become his own worst enemy.

9. Doomsday

The only villain to ever kill Superman, Doomsday is a beast of pure power.

Created by a scientist named Bertron, Doomsday was born/created in prehistoric times in Krypton.

There’s no other way to describe Doomsday other than a mindless monster who is fueled by rage and hatred. Not only is he nearly invulnerable, but he has super strength, speed, regeneration abilities and has protruding bones that can pierce kryptonian skin.

He’s been killed on several occasions but because of his genetic makeup, he’s always able to come back.

His Weakness?

Brainwashing has been one way of defeating him and he’s been hurt by Darkseid’s omega beams. Other than these scare instances, Doomsday is a just a killing machine.

8. Onslaught

Onslaught is a combination of X-Men characters Charles Xavier and Magneto. He’s a being of energy that’s made up of the characters two’s psyches.

He can also transport his psychic energy into other beings, temporarily taking over the minds of his enemies. He’s wreaked havoc on both the X-Men as well as The Avengers.

His Weakness?

He was once punched by The Hulk so hard that it temporarily separated The Hulk from his alter ego Bruce Banner. The punch momentarily broke Onslaught’s psychic wall and allowed for the The X-Men and Avengers to simultaneously entire his mind and defeat him.

7. Imperiex Prime

Imperiex is made up of pure energy and utilizes a humanoid suit of armor in order to harness his energy. His one and only goal is to destroy the universe.

In the Our Worlds at War arch it took most of the heroes and even some of the villains of the DC Universe in order to stop him. His powers include super strength, durability and stamina. He also has the ability to shoot out energy beams and destroy all living things which he once used to kill Doomsday!

His Weakness?

Being an energy source, he does require a physical shell of a body to store his energy. Which means that his shell of a body can be destroyed.

6. Anti-Monitor

Anti-Monitor is one of The Green Lantern Corps’ most fearsome foes.

He’s killed Barry Allen’s Flash as well as Supergirl while in the process of trying to destroy all matter in the Multiverse.

His powers consist of unmeasurable strength, durability, he can fire bolts of energy, travel in time and can gain strength by absorbing universes.

His Weakness?

His biggest weakness is his overwhelming confidence. As he demonstrated in The Crisis series, his over confidence is what ended up being the cause of his ultimate demise.

5. Darkseid

Darkseid is a god who only seeks one thing, to control all living things with the anti life equation. In his quest to find it, he makes Superman’s life a living hell.

He has manipulated many of DC’s top heroes and has even warded off some of DC’s most powerful villlains, including Brainiac.

His powers include inescapable omega beams, super human strength, speed, stamina and is nearly invulnerable. He’s also a telepath, telekinetic, can alter his size and can teleport himself.

His Weakness?

He has been defeated by Superman’s pure power, however he wasn’t killed. Darkseid was also hurt by Doomsday’s protruding bones. Willpower can also be considered a weakness, if his willpower gets rattled, he becomes weakened.

4. Apocalypse

Born in Egypt, En Sabah Nur (which means The First One) is made up of organic and powerful celestial technology. During his travels, he stumbles across advanced alien technology and uses it to enhance and transform himself into an even more powerful being.

In the X-Men Evolution series, it takes all the X-Men as well as Magneto and his band of mutants in order to defeat the all mighty Apocalypse. He is by far the X-Men’s toughest adversary in history.

His powers include immortality, super human strength, invulnerability, teleportation, flight, size alteration ability, super stamina, and is an absolute genius among other things.

His Weakness?

When at full strength, we’ve yet to see him be defeated.

But he has to occasionally regenerate himself in order to sustain his massive powers and during his awakening after regenerating is when he’d be most vulnerable to being attacked.

Other than that, he’s practically indestructible.

3. Thanos

Thanos is a mutant that possesses the deviant gene. Which means he mutates at a faster more evolved rate.

Thanos is a force of galactic proportions and is merely impossible to stop. His powers include superhuman intelligence, power, strength, agility, reflexes, speed, stamina, durability, he can time travel, is a telekinetic, has regeneration abilities and has the ability to manipulate matter and energy. And when he possesses the infinity gauntlet which holds the infinity gems, he’s merely unbeatable.

His Weakness?

Guardians of Galaxy member Drax the Destroyer is one of Thanos’ greatest foe and one of the only chances the galaxy has of stopping him entirely.

2. Amazo

The greatest threat in the DC Universe is undoubtably Amazo. He can duplicate the powers of the superheroes he comes across. Meaning he can replicate all of The Justice League’s powers and use them against them.

His powers seem endless as he can not only replicate the powers of superheroes but he can also replicate their equipment too. Such as Green Arrow’s bow, Wonder Woman’s lasso or The Green Lantern’s ring and powers.

Amazo has been known to replicate a dozen or more superheroes powers at one time. Making him unstoppable. At this point, the limits to his powers are unknown as he is constantly evolving.

His Weakness?

Apathy. He just doesn’t seem to have any interest in destroying Earth. He feels like he’s supposed to serve a greater purpose as he continues to travel through the galaxy in search of it.

1. Galactus

Galactus is known as the sole survivor from the universe prior to the big bang. Galactus is a being that feeds off of WORLDS. He harnesses the energy from the planets he devours.

In a desperate attempt to devour Earth, Galactus was stopped by Earth’s mightiest heroes. Succumbing to his own hunger, Galactus fell. Since then, Galactus vowed to never attempt to destroy Earth again as he now continues to grow stronger destroying other planets. Eventually Galactus was stopped by The Silver Surfer.

His Weakness?

He grows weary when he goes too long without feeding off of worlds. Other than that, he’s indestructible.

The man eats worlds for lunch, what do you want me to say?
