Tom King Teases Batman/Catwoman Superman/Lois Lane Story

Batman writer Tom King took to Twitter to tease an upcoming crossover between Batman, Catwoman, Superman and Lois Lane. Could it be a double date? In his tweet, King mentions that the four will come together in Batman #37, the second chapter of a four-part storyline called “Superfriends” that sees Batman team with Superman and Wonder Woman for the first time since he and Selina Kyle got engaged.

According to the issue’s official synopsis, no matter what happens when Lois and Selina meet, the Dark Knight and the Man of Steel will find their friendship tested by Bruce Wayne’s new relationship status.

Torn apart by betrayal, Batman and Superman try to find a way back to friendship, to trust. Both understand that the future of the DCU depends on this relationship; both understand that without the help of the other, their lives will fall apart. And yet, one is still the spoiled rich boy, and the other is still the naive farm boy. Men from two worlds confront each other and try to see the hope behind the madness.

The “Superfriends” storyline is just a small part of King’s larger “Rules of Engagement” arc, which will explore Bruce Wayne and Selina Kyle’s relationship in the wake of their recent engagement.

The art attached to the tweet is from artist Clay Mann, who will be on Batman #36 and #37 before Joëlle Jones returns to the book for issue #38. Batman #37 arrives in stores on December 20, 2017.
