News Kodoku no Gourmet Net Anime's Promo Video Streamed
Series starring Kenyuu Horiuchi debuts on November 29

The official YouTube channel for Production I.G's "Tate Anime" (Vertical Anime) smartphone app began streaming a promotional video for the anime of Masayuki Kusumi and Jiro Taniguchi's Kodoku no Gourmet (The Solitary Gourmet) manga on Friday. The anime's first episode is slated to debut in the app on November 29.

Kazuchika Kise (Ghost in the Shell Arise) is directing the anime, while Kenyuu Horiuchi (Guin Saga's Guin, Re:Zero's Wilhelm van Astrea) is playing the main character Gorō Inagashira. The staff is currently producing the second episode, and the app will stream the next part of an interview with Kise on Wednesday.

Kodoku no Gourmet ran from 1994 to 1996 in Fusosha's Monthly Panja magazine (now defunct). The story follows a solitary salesman named Gorō Inagashira as he travels all over Japan and samples the local cuisine found on street corners. The manga already inspired live-action television series and specials. The live-action show's sixth season premiered on April 8.
