The law imposes a fine of up to $250 for a first offense, up to $500 for a second offense, and up to $1,000 for a third or subsequent offense.

The New York State "Driver Fatigue" Law: This law was passed in 2013 and sets limits on the number of hours that commercial truck drivers can drive in a day and week. The law also requires drivers to take breaks at regular intervals. The law imposes a fine of up to $1,000 for a first offense, up to $2,000 for a second offense, and up to $3,000 for a third or subsequent offense.

The New York State "ELD" Law: This law was passed in 2017 and requires all commercial truck drivers to use electronic logging devices (ELDs). ELDs track the hours that drivers work and the distance that they drive. The law is designed to help prevent driver fatigue and to ensure that drivers are not driving for more hours than they are legally allowed to drive.
