Flashpoint: Deadman and the Flying Graysons #2
In general, I’m a big fan of alternate reality stories. When done well they can provide a fascinating glimpse at a path not taken for a character that I love. Good alternate reality stories manage to tell compelling stories that nicely reveal different aspects of a character as a natural consequence, rather than those reveals feeling like the entire point of the story. The last page reveal of “Flashpoint: Deadman and the Flying Graysons” #2 lands this story solidly in the latter category. The entire issue feels like it was just about revealing Starfire as a “villain” and an Amazon partly responsible for the death of Dick Grayson’s family. That’s not nearly enough to hang a story on, at least not as executed here. There’s not a lot to hold onto in this issue as it mostly treads water the same way that its characters do. The Amazons attack the circus in an attempt to get the fabled “helm of Nabu,” and chaos ensues. In the chaos, Dick’s parents are dispatched in relatively short order

Flashpoint: Deadman and the Flying Graysons #1
Reading the first issue of “Flashpoint: Deadman and the Flying Graysons,” it brings to mind a meeting where the muckity-mucks at DC were kicking around ideas for “Flashpoint” mini-series and someone said, “Hey, how about Deadman, who never died, is in the same circus troupe as Dick Grayson and his parents, who also lived?” Sounds good, especially when you throw in some other characters like Ragdoll, Killer Shark, and Dr. Fate, except for one thing: no one really came up with a story. As far as comics that are nothing more than ideas go, this one is some lovely art and the odd bit of character work that succeeds. J.T. Krul has a good handle on these versions of Deadman and Dick Grayson and shows that off here, firstly, through Deadman’s narration. He’s an arrogant blowhard who sees his solo acrobatic act as the best thing about the circus troupe he performs in. This is contrasted with the Graysons, who work together as a family. Can you see the contrast,? If you can’t, it’s pointed o

INTERVIEW: Neal Adams Returns to Scene of the Crime in Deadman
While Neal Adams is perhaps more famously known for game-changing runs on Batman, Detective Comics and Green Lantern/Green Arrow, the living legend believes he delivered some of his most groundbreaking work with DC Comics’ lesser-known superhero Deadman in the pages of Strange Adventures. Deadman gave him a chance to do something with a character that was unlike any other in comics, Adams told CBR, because he was already dead and readers already knew how his story would end. At least, they thought they knew. RELATED: Neal Adams Unveils Decades-Old, Never-Before-Seen Marvel KISS Art Now, Adams is returning to the character 50 years later for a new story that is actually a continuation of the story that he started in Strange Adventures #207 back in 1967. The limited series Deadman is back from the dead starting on November 1, and in talking with CBR, Adams shared that Boston Brand — Deadman’s alter ego –– will team-up with Batman, Zatanna, Phantom Stranger, Dr. Fate and the Spectre to

Anime Series Like Deadman Wonderland
When Ganta Igarashi got on a bus with his classmates for their class trip, it was gearing up to be an amazing day. They were going to Deadman Wonderland, after all, an amusement park where convicts perform death-defying stunts for their amusement. However, when Ganta’s class gets brutally murdered before his very eyes by a man in red, he finds himself the sole survivor as well as the suspect. Now he’s been sentenced to the same amusement park he was just enjoying. Although Deadman Wonderland wants for a different ending, it has attracted many fans for its brutality and unique story. If you are looking for more series like Deadman Wonderland, then check out our anime recommendations below. For Fans of Awakenings Tokyo Ghoul Tokyo has become a merciless city where ghouls live amongst humans and feast on their flesh.
