Announced at TV anime's finale The Katsugeki: Touken Ranbu television anime ended on Sunday with an announcement that a theatrical film project is launching. The announcement does not specify the number of films in the project. Los Angeles-based Akatsuki Entertainment USA to focus on films based on manga, anime, novels Smartphone game developer Akatsuki Inc. announced on Tuesday that it has founded a new subsidiary company named Akatsuki Entertainment USA in Los Angeles. The entertainment production company will focus on developing film adaptations of Japanese content, including manga, anime, and novels for a global market. Annmarie Sairrino Bailey (left in picture below), formerly of All Nippon Entertainment Works (ANEW) and later former senior vice president of Development & Production at Entertainment Media Ventures, will head the new company, and Sandy Climan, founder and President of Entertainment Media Ventures and ANEW CEO and Representative Board Director, will advise the company. Romantic comedy manga ran 1997-2000, inspired 2 OVA adaptations The SKY PerfecTV! channel announced on Monday that a live-action series adaptation of Masakazu Katsura's I"s manga has been green-lit. Amane Okayama (pictured below, live-action Lychee Light Club's Jacob) will star in the lead role as Ichitaka Seto. The series will premiere in 2018 on SKY PerfecTV!'s BS Skyper! channel and Skyper! on Demand service, and will also be streamed. The staff will reveal more cast for the series in spring 2018. The original manga has 10 million copies in print. Gag manga previously inspired anime in 2016 The official Twitter for author Ipyao and artist Yūjirō Koyama's Tonkatsu DJ Agetarō manga announced on Thursday that the manga will receive a live-action film. Additional information about the staff and cast will be announced soon. To commemorate the announcement of the live-action film, Shonen Jump+ will publish two new one-shot manga by Yūjirō Koyama. The first, "Gattobe! Home Runnosuke," is available now and the second will debut next week. The gag manga follows Agetarō Katsumata, a stupid but honest guy whose family has run a tonkatsu (breaded pork cutlet) restaurant for three generations. He's also a beginner club DJ.
