The official website for the Love Live! franchise announced on Friday that the second season of the Love Live! Sunshine!! anime will premiere on October 7 at 10:30 p.m. on Tokyo MX, Sun TV, and KBS Kyoto. It will air later the same evening on BS11 and TV Aichi, and the evening of October 10 on TV Hokkaido, SBS, and TVQ Kyushu Broadcasting. A television special will precede the debut of the first episode on September 30 on Tokyo MX, Sun TV, KBS Kyoto, and BS11. The special will also be livestreamed. The first Love Live! Sunshine!! anime premiered in July 2016. Funimation, Crunchyroll, and Daisuki streamed the series outside of Japan. The Love Live! Sunshine!! project was first announced in February 2015. The project's three key phrases are "Reader Participation," "Inspired by μ's," and "Seaside Town Setting." The group's name Aqours was chosen by fans by popular vote. American premiere to be held next month in Austin Magnolia Pictures and its genre arm Magnet Releasing began streaming a trailer for Takashi Miike's live-action film of Hiroaki Samura's Blade of the Immortal manga on Wednesday. The film will premiere in North America at Fantastic Fest, which will be held in Austin, Texas from September 21-28. The film will then have a wider theatrical release on November 3. Blade of the Immortal premiered in Japan on April 29, and hosted its international premiere at the Cannes Film Festival, which was held from May 17-28. The film ranked at #6 in Japan in its opening weekend, selling 145,000 tickets and earning 189 million yen (about US$1.68 million). Samura's original Blade of the Immortal manga follows Manji's journey of revenge as the yōjinbō (bodyguard) of Rin, a young woman who swears vengeance against a group of sword fighters who murdered her parents.
