Johto Legendaries available in Raid Battles for next few months Niantic announced on Thursday that it has added Legendary Pokémon Raikou, Entei, and Suicune to its Pokémon GO smartphone game. The Pokémon can be caught in Raid Battles at Gyms, and will be available in different locations around the world in coming months. From August 31 to September 30, Raikou will be available in the Americas, Entei will be available in Europe and Africa, and Suicune will be available in the Asia-Pacific region. All three Pokémon will move to different locations every month until October 31. Niantic also announced that it will hold field testing for its Exclusive Raid Battle feature, now titled EX Raid Battle. The developers will send out invitations to try the new system as early as September 6. DOTAMA performs theme song for anime based on, airing alongside Yōkai Ningen Bem The staff of the Yōkai Ningen Bem (Humanoid Monster Bem) 50th anniversary project announced on that the new gag anime Ore-tacha Yōkai Ningen and the rebroadcast of the original 1968-1969 anime will premiere in the same time slot on Tokyo MX at 11:30 p.m. on October 4. The shows will also air together on BS11 at 2:00 a.m. on October 10. The staff also revealed that rapper DOTAMA will perform the new anime's theme song "Ore-tacha Yōkai Ningen! ~Ningen Mezashite Nani ga Warui~." Tokyo MX and BS11 will also rebroadcast the 2006 remake anime but the staff have not yet revealed when. Michi Saitō launched spinoff manga in 2015 Michi Saitō published the final chapter of Otokojuku Gaiden: Kurenai!! Onna Juku, the all-female spinoff of Akira Miyashita's Sakigake!! Otoko Juku manga, on Wednesday. The manga is set thirty years after World War III, after Japan has suffered immense damage from a dangerous weapon known as a "Man Bomb" that affected nearly all Japanese men and rendered them unable to fight, with other men giving their lives for their country. Heihachi Edajima, an Otoko Juku veteran and survivor of the Man Bomb, starts up a new facility known as Onna Juku, a tough combat training facility. He begins training several Japanese women to fight for their country. The manga follows Momoko Tsurugi, a descendant of former protagonist Momotaro Tsurugi, who recently enrolls in Onna Juku. Manga based on Kanata Yanagino's light novel series launches on September 25 Overlap Bunko announced on August 25 that Mutsumi Okuhashi is launching a manga adaptation of Kanata Yanagino's The Faraway Paladin (Saihate no Paladin) light novel seriers. The manga will launch on Overlap's Comic Gardo web manga site on September 25, and will publish chapters monthly. Okuhashi drew a preview visual for the manga. Full cast returns from otome game An official website for the anime adaptation of the television anime adaptation of Marvelous, Kadokawa, and Idea Factory's Otomate otome game brand's Sengoku Night Blood smartphone game opened on Wednesday, revealing a key visual and the main staff and cast. The anime will premiere in October on Tokyo MX, Sun TV, TV Aichi, and BS11. Katsuya Kikuchi (The Royal Tutor) is directing the anime at Typhoon Graphics (One Room, Room Mate) with series composition by Yuuko Kakihara (Digimon Adventure tri., Orange). Game ships on September 22 The official Japanese Nintendo YouTube channel began streaming a new video for its Pokkén Tournament DX game on Tuesday. The video introduces the playable Pokémon Gardevoir. The game will ship on September 22. Physical and digital copies of the game will be available. The Nintendo Switch game will feature the 16 playable Pokémon from the original Wii U Pokkén Tournament; Darkrai, Scizor, Empoleon, and Croagunk from updates to the arcade version; and new playable Pokémon Decidueye. Bandai Namco Entertainment and Nintendo released the original Pokkén Tournament fighting game on the Wii U in North America, Europe, and Japan in March 2016.

1st volumes launched on Tuesday Kodansha Comics released the first volumes of Waka Miyama's Elegant Yokai Apartment Life and Pedoro Toriumi's Black Panther and Sweet 16 manga digitally on Tuesday. Hinowa Kōzuki launched the Yōkai Apāto no Yūga na Nichijō (Elegant Yokai Apartment Life) light novel series in 2003, and concluded it in 2009 with 10 volumes (and a later side-story collection in 2013). Romance-action series centering on high school boy with superpowers launched in November 2015 This year's 18th issue of Shueisha's Young Gangan magazine revealed on Friday that Sakurako Gokurakuin's Brave Star ☆ Romantics manga will end in the magazine's next issue on September 15. The "romance-action story with shortcut superpowers" manga centers on Ayumu Takenami, the "Brave Star" who is one of the strongest of those with superpowers. He fights on the front lines every day, but rushes home to Japan to see the girl he likes. Gorakuin launched the series in November 2015, and Square Enix published the manga's second compiled volume (pictured at right) on March 25. Gokurakuin ended her Sekirei manga in August 2015. She began the series in 2004 and the series inspired two anime adaptations in 2008 and 2010. Funimation has released both anime in North America. Yen Press began releasing the Sekirei manga digitally in 2015, and began publishing the series in print in July.

In the latest salvo in an ongoing war over the soul of a cartoon frog, Pepe the Frog creator Matt Furie has reached a settlement with a former middle school assistant principal who published a children’s book using the alt-right-appropriated version of the character. Under the terms of the settlement, Pepe and Pede will no longer be sold and all of author Eric Hauser’s profits from the book will be donated to the Muslim advocacy charity Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR). Pepe, whom Furie created as a “peaceful, chilled out frog” more than 10 years ago on his MySpace comic strip Boy’s Club, has in the last few years been co-opted by by the white nationalist “alt-right” movement. In 2016, as Pepe memes went mainstream during the U.S. presidential election cycle, the Anti-Defamation League went so far as to name Pepe a hate symbol.
